Though the sight of celebration is everywhere, it makes me uneasy when the sun is not rising... I am sure the vampires will be taking advantage of this and be out feeding. I should do something about it.

I just remembered that I promised Father Nightroad that I will talk to him last week.
… I-I do not know if I should remind him. If he does not remember, it may all for the better. I wonder if I will have the courage to face him, especially after that day.
I want to listen to his explanation… though it may be lies.

I am just a little worried about the lack of light... but I suppose I am just being silly again.
But what exactly is a mooncake?

STOP IT, ESTHER BLANCHETT. HE IS FATHER NIGHTROAD. YOU TOLD YOURSELF THAT YOU WOULD GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN.

F-Father Nightroad, it is me... Esther.

Come on in, Miss Esther. There's tea if you want any.

No, she was not afraid. She would not be afraid.*
I am fine, Father. You look like you need it more.
*She seated herself on the chair, looking tense. Esther still could not get over what she saw. It was her desire for an explanation that made her agreee.*
Comment Log!
Ah, I suppose I do look a bit haggard.
*He took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose*
So, an explination. How much do you know?
Comment Log!
Right down to business. Just the way Esther wanted it.*
I know that you are Crusnik... and the name is derived from what you are.
*She kept it general.*
Comment Log!
My codename... and it is what I am. A vampire's vampire if you want to be specific.
*He opened his eyes and looked at her, he face looking thin and hard.*
Most people can figure that out with the way the curses have been affecting me. What else do you wish to know.
Comment Log!
You were the one that wanted an explanation and Father Nightroad is giving it. The least you could do is to listen.
What did she wish to know? Esther has a lot of questions, she does not even know where to start. What exactly was a Crusnik? Where did they originated from? ...what was he up to?*
How long have you? lived... to know the destruction code for a Lost Technology as old and sophisticated as the Star of Sorrow?
Comment Log!
He took a sip of his wine, gathering his thoughts. He'll have to tell her everything. It looked like his only option.*
Lived? A long time. We were part of time where such things were common place. Before the First Armageddon, at least.
Re: Comment Log!
T-Then how can you possibly be alive?
*Even a vampire can only live up to 300 odd years... and vampires had only appeared after Armageddon.*

Humans built us to be perfect. We were made to survive nearly everything that space could throw at us right before we were sent along with a hand-picked humans to colonize Mars. We found the Bacillus and the Crusnik viruses there, and we tested to see what they did. The Bacillus mutated when we came back to earth, giving rise to the vampires. The Crusnik only could bond with the perfect system - namely myself and the others like me. It also extended our lives.
[OOC: No worries. I know how that goes!]

Though Father Nightroad was unlike himself, Esther hardly noticed as she listened intently to what he has to tell.
That was the answer to one of the questions she had been looking for.*
Hence your codename... AX, they would know about it.... right?
*AX, the division directly under the Duchess of Milan, the person Father Nightroad was working under. She had wanted to join it... though she was not too sure of what she wanted to do now.
She looked at Abel. At first glance, one would not have thought someone like him was a special agent of the AX, but then again, who would have thought that Dietrich was an Orden member? Who was right and who was wrong, Esther just did not know anymore.*
I have heard that there was a war between vampires and humans... were you involved as well?
Comment Log!
No, this wasn't going to be easy.*
Layd Caterina knows about it. The others think that it is a special skill, just like they all have theirs.
Yes, I was involved. at one time, I led the fight against the humans.
*He eyed her for a moment and then grinned, slowly. It was an expression that wouldn't have sat well with anyone that thought they knew him as a clumsy priest.*
But at the time, it was a fight I believed in, just like your fight to free your home town from the Count's hands.
Comment Log!
Awhile ago, if anyone told her that vampires were the way they were because of this- this Bacillus, she would have called them a liar. Now… she does not know what to think anymore.
Was this the answer she was looking for all this while?
Who knew she would have gotten it so easily?
Esther followed the course of action she knew best. To listen.
Who was right and who was not does not matter… not at the moment. She still had time to decide whether Father Nightroad was lying or not. His expression did not escape her.*
My… no, our fight to protect our home… was out of desperation. It was for… survival. I have no idea what your war was about…
*It was either them, or Gyula. How naïve she was back then, thinking that there was only one side to it. It did not change the fact that if she had to do it all over, she will stand up and fight.*
But I will not presume to judge what you did. I am sure most, if not everyone did or said something in their life that they regret. We may not be able to change it, but what we can do is to look forward and make up for it.
*Esther gave him a faint smile.*
Comment Log!
*He sighed and pressed his fingers against his forehead, closing his eyes and looking old and weary.*
The follies of youth, I suppose. Ah well, that is true. We need to make up for the mistakes that happened before."
I should be doing it.Especially since you are so busy.1/2
